COLD CASE: The Unsolved Stabbing and Murder of Carol Fitzmaurice

On October 20, 1970, at around 6:00 p.m. the body of 23-year-old nurse Carol Fitzmaurice was discovered by her husband after returning to their home at 2678 West Five Mile Road, Allegany, New York. Her body had 14 stab wounds in both her abdomen and upper body. Investigators collected fingerprint and hair evidence from the home, but it has yet to be linked to anyone. Police discovered an uncooked chicken in the oven, indicating that she was in the middle of getting dinner ready when she was attacked. It should also be noted that nothing was stolen.

COLD CASE: The Unsolved Murder of Theresa Allore

19-year-old Theresa Allore was a student at Champlain College in Lennoxville, Quebec who was last seen on November 3rd, 1978. She was last seen telling friends that she was going to study and work on a book report, and also made plans with these friends to meet back up at residence at 9:00 p.m. However, she never showed up that night, and was reported as missing on November 10th.

On June 6th, 1991 46-year-old Penny Bell, a successful business woman, left her home in Buckinghampshire, UK, at 9:40 a.m. in her blue Jaguar XJS, telling the men doing construction on her house that she was late for an appointment at 9:50 a.m.

COLD CASE: The Hit-and-Run Murder of 10-year-old Sheryl Blundell

On February 1973, in Whitchurch-Stouffville, Ontario, 10-year-old Sheryl Blundell and her friend, Lynn Sprague left their home to buy candy from a local store. On their way out, Sheryl told her brother that they would be back in 10 minutes. At around 7:20 p.m., the two friends stepped onto the road in front of a building at 233 Main Street, Stouffville, to give a lost driver directions to a local veterinary clinic. While they were doing this, they were suddenly struck by another vehicle, described as an early 1960s red or grey Ford or Mercury car. After hitting the girls, the car slowed down but never stopped. Lynn suffered serious injuries but was able to survive. Sheryl suffered worse injuries, and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

UNIDENTIFIED DOE: Guadalupe County Jane Doe

The Guadalupe County Jane Doe was discovered by a Highway Department foreman on July 11th, 1978, in Guadalupe County, New Mexico, beside Highway 219 at the junction of US 84 and I-40. It was evident at the scene that she had been shot multiple times, additionally, .22 shells were discovered at the scene. Her body was discovered wearing dark brown moccasin shoes, blue denim Levi cutoffs, and a white and navy vest or halter-top type shirt. Additionally, her ears were pierced three times on the left ear, and two times on the right ear.

She was a Caucasian female estimated to be around 25 years of age, who was around 5’8″ and weighed around 145 lbs. Her hair was blonde or strawberry colored, and she had blue eyes. Its estimated that she was murdered days or hours prior to the discovery of her body.

UNIDENTIFIED DOE: “White Socks”, Tom Green County John Doe

The case of “White Socks” begins on November 25th 1987, with two boys going fishing southwest of San Angelo, Texas, within a remote area nearby to the north shore of the Twin Buttes Lake. Along their fishing trip, in a field at the end of a caliche road which was just off of FM 1266, the boy discovered the skeletal remains of an unidentified man. It was evident from the scene that the man was wearing size 34 x 30 Levi’s blue jeans, size 34 Jockey undershorts, and clean white socks when he died.

TRUE CRIME FACT: Rodney Alcala Wins “The Dating Game”

Serial Killer Rodney Alcala went onto a popular television show called “The Dating Game” during his killing spree. He managed to win the show when the bachelorette pick him, but she decided not to go on a date with him because after the show she found him “too creepy”.

TRUE CRIME FACT: Jeffrey Dahmer’s Lobotomy “Zombies”

Serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer, responsible for the murder, dismemberment, and cannibalism of 17 men, attempted lobotomies on some of his victims. He would drug his victims and then drill holes into their heads. He would then pour muriatic acid into the holes in an attempt to make them zombie-like.

TRUE CRIME FACT: H.H. Holmes’ Murder Castle

Serial killer H.H. Holmes bought a hotel during the 1893 World’s Fair in Chicago, and used it to murder upwards of 200 people. The hotel, later dubbed “The Murder Castle”, was built by various contractors whom Holmes fired and hired randomly so that nobody would know the layout of the building. The castle in question was outfitted with soundproofed rooms, secret passageways, and mazes made out of the building’s hallways and staircases. The rooms had trapdoors which led to the Castle’s basement, which contained acid vats, quicklime (a substance used to decompose bodies), and a crematorium.

COLD CASE: The Unsolved Double Murder of Curtis Francis and Jennifer Burgette

On December 9th, 2006, an engaged couple, 34-year-old Curtis Francis and 30-year-old Jennifer Burgette were murdered in there home on Hopper Road in Piketon, Ohio. The couple were shot as they slept in their bed in a case which has now been dubbed the “Hopper Road double murder”.
